KPAA Assists with Balboa Park Exhibit

To help mark the centennial of Balboa Park’s Panama Pacific Exposition, KPA Associates, Inc. is proud to be a sponsor of a fascinating exhibit on view now through November 30, 2015 at San Diego’s historic Marston House (pictured). Balboa Park Exposition Designers 1915-1935 examines the lives of some of the architects, landscape designers, and planners of two grand expositions. The culmination of years of planning, planting, and construction, the Panama California Exposition opened in 1915 to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal. The 1935 fair, called the California Pacific International Exposition, made use of the surviving 1915-era structures as well as distinctive new structures and gardens. Andrew Bowen researched and wrote brief biographies of two of the exposition architects, August Heide and Richard Requa. The biographies are featured in an illustrated catalog of the exhibit.
