UCSD Medical Center

UCSD MEDICAL CENTER - NINTH FLOOR INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

New cabinetry, flooring, and lighting enhance an existing 7-bed intensive care unit. The finished space is a major improvement for staff and patients alike. The remodeled nursing station (shown in photo at right) provides required storage as well as attractive screening of work stations.


ESSENTIAL FACILITY TENANT IMPROVEMENT

University of California San Diego Medical Center
Project architect Francois Lewis was asked to create a design upgrading the existing main conference room to an Emergency Control Center without altering the room’s traditional d├ęcor. The project included modifying the existing conference table to hardwire-connect 18 laptop computers that could work simultaneously, providing emergency power throughout the room, and installing a state of the art video conference system pre-set to coordinate with city and state agencies during an emergency.


SERVER FARM BUILDING ROOF-TOP COOLING EQUIPMENT UPGRADE

University of California San Diego Medical Center
This project entailed upgrading the campus computer server farm building’s HVAC unit from a 15-ton capacity to a 20-ton capacity. Power consumption was reduced by 10% due to the high efficiency of the unit selected.
