KPAA is proud to offer free courses pertaining to construction defect litigation to our friends and colleagues in the Southern California region. We will come to your office and present valuable information on a variety of topics related to the construction defect litigation industry from the perspective of an architect, and we'll even buy you lunch.

Building Components

This course provides an overview of commonly used terminology pertaining to construction components. The components and terms are often found in construction defect matters. Understanding of these terms on some level facilitates a better comprehension and enables legal counsel to better serve their clients.

Top 10 Defects

This course provides an overview of the ten most common categories for construction defect claims. The course is presented from the perspective of an architect with the purpose of empowering legal counsel to better understand the nature of common claims.

Construction Documents

This course offers an overview of the documentation most commonly associated with construction projects. These materials are often integral to the contractual relationship of the various parties named in a typical construction defect claim. The course provides an understanding of how to navigate these documents as well as insight into how these documents can help define the scope of work, material selection and specific methods for the various parties from the perspective of an architect.
