At KPAA, Mr. Lewis has been the project architect of over 100 healthcare facility improvement projects, most of them for the University of California San Diego Medical Center. Projects have varied in size but each has required good design skill, careful attention to the client's budget, and exact detailing that meets the rigorous requirements of OSHPD (California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development). Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordination with structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing consultants
  • Integrating fire and life safety systems into the design; working with fire marshals and OSHPD officials
  • Communication with UCSD department heads and other administrators
  • Preparing construction documents
  • Construction administration

Mr. Lewis has also assisted with KPAA's forensic services by conducting site inspections and analyzing field data.

Mr. Lewis has over 30 years of experience providing drafting, project management, problem-solving, contract administration, and computer system support for a variety of architectural firms. His project portfolio includes government, medical, commercial, and educational projects for clients including the U.S. Navy, UCSD Medical Center, Kaiser, and the Vista Unified School District.
